THE COMMONWEALTH CLUB:
The Commonwealth Club, home of the Royal Commonwealth Society, is a unique and modern setting for any event. The Club's fresh new look and the flexibility of its facilities make this private members' Club an ideal location for any occasion, from conferences to intimate dinners. Situated in the heart of London, just a few minutes walk from Trafalgar Square, the Club provides the ultimate welcoming environment, whatever the nature of the event.
THE MANDELA ROOM:
The Mandela Room is an airy and modern event space that has the flexibility to host a variety of different conference styles. It is the largest daytime space within the Commonwealth Club and is equipped with built in audio visual facilities. The room is also complimented with multi functional lighting which can be dimmed or coloured.
The Mandela Room has a dedicated registration desk area and, like all areas within the Club, has full disabled access and air conditioning throughout.
The Commonwealth Club was the location of Nelson Mandela’s first speech outside of Africa following his incarceration of 27 years.
THE NEHRU ROOM
The Nehru room is a large and flexible space which can host a variety of different events, ranging from meetings to conferences to presentations.
The room benefits from a built in data projector, screen, adaptable lighting system and a dedicated registration area.
Like all areas within the Club, the Nehru room has a full disabled access and air conditioning.
Named after Jawaharlal Nehru who was the first (and to date the longest-serving) prime minister of India, from 1947 until 1964. Nehru was recognized as Gandhi's political heir and an important figure in the international politics of the post-war era.
THE THORNE ROOM:
The Thorne Room is a flexible space which can host a variety of different conference styles, equipped with a built in data projector, screen and the all important air-conditioning.
This room is located off the Gallery, a dedicated space for pictures from around the Commonwealth. It is in this area that you will have an allocated registration desk for your meeting and like all areas in the club it has full disabled access.
The Thorne Room is named after Sir David Thorne who was Director-General of the Royal Commonwealth Society. He was responsible for the redevelopment of the Commonwealth Club as well as securing the future of the RCS Library which is now housed in the University of Cambridge.

The Commonwealth Kitchen and its head chef Oliver Tobias serves up an eclectic menu of modern European classics with a Commonwealth twist. A light and spacious dining room punctuated by a revolving wall of Commonwealth artwork provides the backdrop to a wonderful experience. The wine list has been from across the Commonwealth with a smattering of Old World classics to complement.
