Summer at the HAC

When the weather is lovely, the last place you want to be is cooped up indoors and yet the options for outside events in the City are pretty limited. The HAC is just minutes’ walk from any City office butt as you walk through the gates onto the stunning six acre garden you enter a different world.

One of the most popular pastimes at the HAC is cricket particularly as the HAC has the only cricket ground in the City. Often these matches are combined with catering of some form;

Either an informal barbecue or reception or a seated dinner with an auction and follow on entertainment. There can be few more pleasurable ways to spend a gorgeous summer’s evening than sipping a glass of pimms whilst listening to the thwack of the ball on a cricket bat.

On days when there is no cricket the Artillery Garden can be hired for both daytime and evening events until dusk. After work rounder’s or softball games followed by a barbecue are particularly in demand as are team building events and inflatable fun days.

You do not however have to hire the Artillery Garden to enjoy a summer event at the HAC. The stylish, contemporary Prince Consort Rooms have their own private courtyard and astro turfed garden area providing the perfect combination of inside and outside space whether it is for a conference or a summer party or indeed a combination of the two. The Prince Consort Rooms will seat up to 400 for a theatre style conference or 250 cabaret style.

For a party the Prince Consort Rooms will seat up to 350 for dinner with dancing or Accommodate up to 800 for an informal stand up event... When the weather is fine guests can make the most of the outside area for a barbecue or reception safe in the knowledge that there is an easily accessible wet weather option on hand.As it gets dark, guests can move Inside for further entertainment...
