Venue Description:
This is one of the most famous cinemas in London's West End. Originally opened as the Saville Theatre in 1927, it played host to Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles when it was managed by Brian Epstein and in the 70s held many prestigious premieres. Rebranded into ODEON's first arthouse cinema in 2001, our four large screens are devoted entirely to the best in independent and foreign cinema. Truly fanatical about film, they host special events throughout the year, including film festivals and Q & A sessions with directors and actors; Renee Zellweger, Terry Gilliam, Sam Mendes and Tobey Maguire being just a few of our famous guests. Other stars, like Sir Michael Caine and Bruce Willis, have kindly left their handprints on the screen doors. Being one of the most technologically advanced in the country, and having digital projection in three screens, they have the ability to show different kinds of presentations, plus all the latest film formats. There's also wheelchair access in Screen 1 and the latest infra-red system available in all screens.
