Venue Description:

A lovingly restored traditional boozer with an excellent Gastro-style menu, served in an ultra relaxed and cosy environment.  A strong emphasis on good music and entertainment will see this place rocket to become the no1 hangout space in the area.
The legendary Pelican Pub has re-opened. Lovingly restored, she holds her wings wide open to the public once more, a re-freshed and fabulous boozer with a whole new bill of entertainment, nesting alongside some fine hearty pub food and an A1 music policy.
Upon entering The Pelican a long and well stocked bar greets and the inviting banquette seating plus traditional pub furnishings instantly strike, leaning you into a very long and happy resting position. The bar is further decorated with curiosities old and new making the Pelican an altogether wondrous and charming watering hole wallow away the hours in.
Travelling up the winding staircase you'll find the super and beautiful first floor bar. With log fire, Chesterfields and chandeliers, this area oozes with comfort and the party spirit of years gone by. It's now back in action, and ready for plenty more parties.
Wine is served by the bottle or the glass, with Real Ales and Beers on tap. The food here is delicious and comforting – hearty grub with The Pelican's own finishing touches, to make it stand out a little from the rest. No matter what you try – be it The Pelican Ploughman's, a seasonal Risotto, the Lamb cutlets, good old Beer Battered Cod and Chips, or if you go for one of the famous Sunday Roasts or Brunches, you'll have a seriously happy belly in no time.
This place has played host to a variety of cutting edge acts such as superstars Sinead O'Connor and Mick Jagger as well as the Clash who performed an early 1970's gig here. Global DJ legend Sasha also spun here in his hey day, and more recently Bugged Out hosted their infamous do's here. The place has always been known for its warm and happening party vibe, and this looks certain to mould its shape in the future.
New landlord - the charming Alistar Priddle, co-owns The Pelican with lively and innovative entrepreneurs Andy Maddocks and Jon Ross who also own Dust Bar in Clerkenwell plus the Industry and Home bars in Shoreditch. They are a close knit lot who look certain to make this boozer take off into even bolder and far reaching dimensions, continuing their flawless business ethos of top notch entertainment and endless nights of fun filled boozing!

Entertainment:

The Pelican is a place of entertainment right through the week. On Tuesdays there is the brain rattlingly fun Pub Quiz, Wednesdays is when talented local folk take the stage to showcase their singing talents for Open Mic Night. Then the innovative and scarily addictive dice rolling game 'No Bill' where you go head to head with bar staff to win drinks is on Thursdays; a perfect excuse to start the weekend a bit early! And we haven't even mentioned the free juke box and DJ's at the weekend yet, either!
